His video on Sexual healing was doing the rounds some months back. (Catholic Groups promoting it..)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlJFvxad1_A&list=UUc4yillQaNo6a-iG2PYbbrA&index=7&feature=plcp

"Religion" is a very broad word.. Better you detail what you hate about it instead of re quoting a rap song.

That vid is sick. Really like it, thanks for linking.
    Especially liked the line of:
Start studying her heart, not staring at her booty.
Or maybe invest the same amount of time in her.. as you do in call of duty..

Can't say that I agree with absolutely everything he's saying in both those videos, but he is one talented guy with a lot of interesting points and he certainly gets you thinking in a way that dry sermons and texts don't, thanks for posting.

I think his point is that one can have religion without having Christ. Such religion is evil. The teachings of that religion may be true, but if it omits the truth about Christ it is a false religion. The omission makes the part-truth a lie.

    ****************************************************************
Romans 10:1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

    You know this because you:
    1. Contain the sum of all knowledge and know that God does not exist?

    2. The real God has told you the God of the Bible is an imposter?

    3. You desperately hope so?

    ********************************************************************
Psalm 53:1a The fool has said in his heart,
    “There is no God.”

Wow, that lad is on fire; fair play! Loved the second vid too....

I think he's railing against those who use their religion to be outwardly pious, but only live on the surface of it and never meet Christ.

GK Chesterton ( one of my absolute favourite writers ) one said..

Just going to Church doesn't make you a Christian anymore than standing in your garage makes you a car. :pac:

A perfect example of what he, and myself, is against was shown last night when tv3 was airing the magdalene sisters.

So are you saying that if that sort of place was bnot run by religious people and by the state instead that you would hate the state?
You are aware over 200 children have died while under State care in the last decade.

those children died due to lazy indifference by social workers and various HSE clock punchers , not defending it but its a different kettle of fish than the magdalene laundrys

    Your being silly here.
The state never said that what they were doing was in the name of God. Those women were. There was a missuse of authority from both sides, thats a given.
Both were wrong, i dont think anyone could disagree on that.

I dont see the big deal with this video. All he is doing is rehashing the same old secular arguments that have been dealth with such as ''religion'' causes wars and that Money is being spent on the Churches and structures.

Religion doesnt start war, its the people behind religion who use it as a tool to start wars that are the problem. The knife is a tool that can both be used for humble reasons and sinful. But the knife not the problem, its the person behind the knife that is the problem.

As for the building of fine architecture, you can find all that IN the Bible. Where God orders them to build and create architecture to worship him. Catholics build Architecture worthy of housing the Lord if funds are available. Plus no other organization in the world spends more money feeding the poor and clothing the naked than the Catholic Church.

On another note, the very Bible this young man claims to be a fan of debunks his own argument and shows religion in a positive light:

James:1:26 [26] And if any man think himself to be religious, not bridling his tongue, but deceiving his own heart, this man's religion is vain. [27] Religion clean and undefiled before God and the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their tribulation: and to keep one's self unspotted from this world.

Plenty of Statists said they did what they did because "there is no God" . Im just pointing out that if you propose a standard that believers should follow then you need to apply the same standard to atheists.
Those women were. There was a missuse of authority from both sides, thats a given.

I don't disagree on that. Wher i have a problem is for example when all the attention is focused on the less than one per cent of clergy engaged in child sex abuse and the other 99% plus is hardly mentioned.

In thw above case you discuss the Magdalen Asylums.
We have discussed thenm berfore here.
As in other media myths they are presented as an evil brought about by the Catholic Church, that imprisioned pregnant women and stole their babies and were part of a Churchwide abuse by the hierarchy.
They were not set up by the Catholic church.
They were set up by Protestants and for good reasons.
The women ( and they were not kiddies but young women) were free to leave it was not a prison.
Im am not aware of Catholic priests being involved in sexual abuse ( or physical abouse) in them.
Some still exist today as far as I know.

While the Hollywood depiction and indeed the actual reality was a terrible abuse of authority you need to look at all the other things in society at that time.

This does not mean they were right to do what they did - but you specifically picked them out as an example and if you do that you have to put them into context.

As I said, I'm not placing the blame and making claim he is talking about any one denomination in the video. So a debate of such I'm not going to get involved in.
I'll restate my point. These people, whatever creed or belief which use god and Jesus as a threat and a way to enstill fear to anyone, be it the 1% priests, the westboro baptists or the massive money centered American protestants, those are the ones I reference when I use the term 'religion'.
But I will say that there are majority good in all denominations, and it's the negative ones that bring it down unfortunately.

Oh so by "religion" you mean "not religion at all but a tiny minority of selfish people claiming to be following God when in fact they know that even by their own rules they are false or just blindly following without using their conscience ?"

NMo problem. I though by "religion" you actually meant religion.
But I will say that there are majority good in all denominations, and it's the negative ones that bring it down unfortunately.

And I'd apply the same to atheists. Except when they bring it down there isn't much left to rebuild after they have finish.

    Moderating Instruction
ISAW, please take this kind of stuff to the Atheist/Christian Debate Thread. We don't need another thread derailed by your hobby-horse. This thread is not about atheism.

I wasnt able to embed this so maybe the mods can help out.

But here is a fantastic rap response by a priest. Using the exact same techniques and visuals as the OP's video. it's great.

Religions are nothing but a huge well planned mind game and I really feel sorry for the people who need such rubbish. Use common sense instead, youll get on much better. Gathering regularly casting their spells, wearing certain funny hats and clothes, buying plastic rubbish.... Im proud not to be fooled.

Pity you've fooled yourself about what others believe and why.
