Would appreciate any advice you could give us on buying a small second hand car.
Our car we had for years was stolen some weeks back, now trying to get a replacement.
O.H likes the look of the Fiat Panda, has anyone got a view on them?
What other small cars should we look at?
We are pretty clueless when it comes to cars.
Budget around €3,000. Miles around 150 km a week.

    Thanks in advance.

Panda has built up a decent reputation and you'll get a fairly fresh one within budget.

Get the 1.2 not the 1.1 though.

My friend drives Panda'06 and she is happy with the car.
The choice of small cars is huge. Just go to carzone and in settings choose preffered options e.g price, year, engine size etc.

I've had two Golfs (3 series) second hand and basically no matter how old a Golf is, it will get you from A-B and parts are easy to get.

Im in the same boat as you OP and Jazz is my joint no1 target if I can find it at the right price, it features in the top 10 of the worlds most reliable cars, that somebody posted here recently.

Other cars I've looked at include,
Audi A2, Fiat Panda, Fiat Idea, Fiat Sedici, Ford Fiesta/ Fusion, Hyundai Matrix, Kia Rio/Ceed, Mazda 2, Mitsubishi Colt, Nissan Note and Micra, Opel Meriva, Peugeot 207/307, Renault Modus, Smart Fourfour, Suzuki Swift, Suzuki Sx4, Suzuki Ignis. VW polo.

What most of these cars have in common is they are all riding higher
With most of these you can put down the back seats and you can fit an Octavia in the back !!
They are all small cars, cheap to service and economical at the fuel stage.

    pulled from another thread^^^
any from that list above should suit you as well,
