    Hi all,

Got a new car yesterday, boggo spec golf mk6 gti. :p

So looking into iPod/bluetooth car solutions:

    Options I've been looking into:

    My current system:

RCD310 with a aux in port

    Option 1)

My old system from my mk5 golf: Pioneer f3210bt but maps are expensive for it and wasn't totally happy with the setup and how it works(non oem look)

    2)

Get a mk9200, had one before but didn't like the fact things very added to the car, never seem to have found a good location for it.

    3)

Full OEM setup, pretty screwed without the multifunction steering wheel yeah?

    4)

THB bury 9060cc music (had a iPod connection) looks a tad neater then the mk9200 but same issues with location etc.

    5)

    VW RNS315 ($$$)

But what I can make out it has the fiscon bluetooth module built in to the machine

    6)

    or wait for this

Someone here got a retrofit of an OEM sat nav and bluetooth for around €750 iirc. My car doesn't have a mfsw but the bluetooth can be used via the stalk or headunit. If you just wanted bluetooth and not nav that's possible, the nav is a ten minute retrofit job if you decide on that afterwards.

If you are an iPhone user check out the new pioneer App Radio. Looking at putting one into my mkV Gti at the moment. Cheapest price I've seen online is £300.

    Cheers for the replies,

Spotted that dynavin alright, seems the VW style still in testing phase by the looks of it. Beemer one seems to be successful though.

Ah can you? thought you needed the MFSW. So how does the stalk work, don't see any buttons on the RCD 310 either?

Might go down that route first so, OEM bluetooth kit and iPod connection. What bluetooth kit did you use, 9w7? Heard this one does stereo bluetooth too.

Regarding the app radio, Have a pioneer already and have a android phone. Cant say I liked the pioneer, there Igo software is crap. :P thanks for the suggestion though.

The RNS510 is in my sights..one step at a time!

Damo, I looked into the Pioneer AppRadio when I was modifying the dash of the ReTardis to take a DoubleDIN - the problem is that most of the apps it runs rely on the iPhone. It uses the built in Googlemaps app, which eats 3g data. It doesn't allow for you to use any of the 3rd party nav apps like Navigon or TomTom yet, although it may in the future. There's been a newer versoin of the AppRadio released at CES last week too, but no real new features of merit.

I'd be inclined to go down the OEM replacement route TBH and have something which looks and performs properly.

User called damian69 on fleabay is good. I bought my newer one from euautoparts on there. They have another shop called sat_nav_deals. They were excellent and when I had a problem after installation I was talked through the fix via Google talk in the car.

bit the bullet with the dension gateway 5, heard some mixed reviews on it but going to try it out anyway.

Havent fitted it yet, just awaiting a extension and iPod cable to come into the post..cant trust myself taking apart the dash though so going to get it professionally installed!!

Anyone here have a vagcom cable, need to get two things activated on the MFD?

    1)Bluetooth phone
    2) MDI interface

    maybe 3) needle sweep..looks savage!

    thanks

Just got my Dynavin D99 (non android) for my VW MK5 TDI. Looks amazing in the car and works perfect so far.

With this unit I got everything what I needed like: Phone (Contacts are taken from your phone to the unit so you do not need to operate from your phone at all) ,A2DP Bluetooth, Sat Nav Igo9, Ipod with charging, USB, DVD, Microsdcard,

My MFD and Multi function steering Wheel is working with no problem.

So happy now because I can use my phone button on the steering wheel :)
