Dont know if this happens in other stadiums but ive noticed for a long time in thomand that match stewards go up and down the stands and if they see empty seats they'll ask the surrounding people if anyone is sitting there.

If the answer comes back as no they bring down a couple people and they're sitting there for the match. And this happens in really good seats on the halfway line.

So does anyone know where these people come from? Are stewards letting random people in for free to fill the seats?

Hardly. I'd imagine it's people who're stuck away up in the sky at the very top of the stand that are being brought down.

Cos this time round they have a sh*t view, relatively speaking. Maybe they've asked? I've not been in the stands for a match before.

Possibly suffering from vertigo and being moved to a lower tier.

They are being moved due to vertigo. Every stadium with high stands has to provide for this.

Really, I'd a thought if you suffer from vertigo you shouldn't buy tickets in the the high seats. Certainly in buying tickets for the Avivia it has a disclaimer that if you suffer from vertigo to not buy tickets in the upper stands.

Every large stadium, Aviva and Croke Pk included, puts by a limited amount of tickets in lower areas in case. Usually replacements will be for a pair.
Not everyone knows if they suffer or not before attending, particularly children so such a contingency is catered for.

Fair enough. The cold, hard, capitalist in me wouldn't leave any seats free for possible vertigo suffers though. :o
