A series of CIA memos describes how Israeli Mossad agents posed as American spies to recruit members of the terrorist organization Jundallah to fight their covert war against Iran.

    Continued: http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2012/01/13/false_flag

Jundullah are designated terrorists according to the US.

Since its inception in 2003, Jundallah has engaged in numerous attacks resulting in the death and maiming of scores of Iranian civilians and government officials, primarily in Iran’s Sistan va Balochistan province. Jundallah uses a variety of terrorist tactics, including suicide bombings, ambushes, kidnappings and targeted assassinations. In May 2009, Jundallah attacked the crowded Shiite Amir al-Mo’menin mosque in Zahedan, destroying the mosque and killing and wounding numerous worshipers. An October 2009 bomb attack which killed more than 40 people was reportedly the deadliest terrorist attack in Iran since the 1980s. Following the February 2010 capture by Iranian authorities of Jundallah’s ex-leader, Abdul Malik Rigi, the group selected a new leader, al-Hajj Mohammed Dhahir Baluch, and confirmed its commitment to continue its terrorist activities. In July 2010, Jundallah attacked the Grand Mosque in Zahedan, killing approximately 30 and injuring hundreds.

The Administration condemned the Grand Mosque attack in the strongest possible terms and stated that the United States extends its sympathy to the families and loved ones of those injured and killed. The President and the Secretary called for the perpetrators of this horrific attack to be held accountable for their actions.

yup I believe there is some truth to this.

It throws the US in a good light though so may contradict many of your other theories!

It does? How? I admit I was wrong about Jundullah being CIA-backed but so too were Jundullah themselves.

The Israelis must have been rubbing their hands together with joy at this. I don't think it puts the US in a good light, it makes them look like fools. Their supposed client state and suppoesd ally impersonating it's intelligence agents to cause friction between the US and Iran bringing them one step closer to war - ultimately for Israel without a single drop of Israeli blood being spilled.

Yeah, I know, but it's irrelevant because that's Rigi (then) leader of of the Sunni terrorist group Jundullah - it's run by Mossad.

It's a safe conclusion that he was convinced by the English-speaking-US passport-holding-dollar-waving lies of the Mossad agents and was in fact making an honest confession.

Now we know where they were getting the support and orders to
to carry out their terrible terrorist atrocities, killing many women and children such as in The Chabahar Mosque attack and Zahedan amongst many others.

Now we know where they got these from:
Iranian officials say they captured 10 members of Jundullah last weekend, carrying $500,000 in cash along with "maps of sensitive areas" and "modern spy equipment".

Isn't that something? US taxpayers having their hard-earned money given to Israel as aid only for it to end up in the hands of Sunni terrorists acting at the behest of Israel to bring the US and Iran closer to all out war where it is the sons and daughters of the same US taxpayers who will be maimed and killed in a war that is to strengthen Israels hegemony in the region.

While I believe there is some truth behind Israeli sponsorship of foreign groups (possibly for infiltration as actually getting Mossad agents inside Iran is extremely difficult and dangerous)

I don't base any of these assumptions on what the Iranian leadership nor what the state-controlled media says.

What you don't seem to realise is that Jundullah would be useless for any infiltration in Iran. The Baloch people aren't Persian nor speak Persian as their first language. If you want to "infilitrate" you'd use MEK, who are Persians. If you want to kill civilians and blow up Mosques you use Jundullah.

Rigi is neither state-controlled media nor Iranian leadership so I have no idea what you are trying to get at.

Sorry I'm not following this debate but you are using decent sources (except for PressTV) and I think there's truth there somewhere.
