When you say "classic", do you mean the 1990-2001 car or the pre-1971 car?

I would say you will struggle to do this under you own name due to the age of the car, unless you get a post 1995 car.

I think you could be in trouble. I couldn't even add my 21 year old daughter as a named driver on the policy of a BMW E36 318 vert. It costs €1200 to insure her on a 1.6 mondeo as her own car. As a 19 year old man, expect to pay a lot

Said to say you haven't got a hope under your own name. Careful ringing these companies if they record your details then in a few weeks/months they get a request to add you to your dads policy they may get suspicious.
