submitted med1 for 2011 over week ago with final payslip for health exps refund.

i logged online and could see the correspondonce was assigned 9th jan 2012 - logged on today and shows status now as completed in my requests, no sign of p21 or any refund.

when i try to click into 2011 i get an error message asking me to contact paye anytime help line -

anyone ever have this experience before, if so let me know.

    thanks

A percentage of all claims get double checked for accuracy/validation. This creates a Workitem for another Revenue staff member to look at when they get round to it. It may also generate a holding stop on that particular claim meaning you can't see 2011 until its worked. Drop the PAYE section an email to have them check this.

By the way, if you have access to the online system, why did you not submit the health expenses claim online? It's a 48 hour turn around versus up to 10 weeks for paper claims. That is the whole point of the online service.

if it's getting double checked why would it show up on my requests as being completed?

the reason i sent the claim by post is they don't have pay and tax records up for 2011 yet - but i always send the med1 in with a final yr payslip shows the same information. even if it is being checked i cannot understand why they have blocked out 2011 - if i want to do something else i have to wait until that block is lifted.......

What has been completed is the med 1 form. All that means is someone has physically input the details from the form.

The Workitem/stop is a security feature which would be a bit poor if it allowed you to continue making other adjustments without someone looking at the Workitem/stop first.

Also you can input your pay and tax yourself online when making the claim.

    Hi There,

I was made redundant in Dec 2009 and got paid out inc statutary for that year. I was lucky enough to pick up a job in Jan 2010. My question is this, Can I claim back PRSI or Tax on my earnings for that year of work 2009?

    Tks in advance

You can claim back overpaid tax only. You mightn't get a full refund of tax if you had a tax liability anyhow.

If you had a taxable lump sum payment as part of your redundancy payment, you may be due top slicing relief also. The best thing to do is to ring Revenue and ask for a review of your tax affairs for 2009, and top slicing relief, if applicable.

I think you need to contact the Dept of Social Protection re: PRSI refunds

Rang the helpdesk yesterday....they said the reason I got an error is there was a conflict with my address on the system. They rectified it and told me to give it 24 hours. Logged in again today and it is now working so problem solved

I am now getting the error !

I claimed health expenses, rang the helpdesk, they actually gave me the figure due back etc.

Still getting that error, for the rebate to come does a balancing sheet have to show up on my account ?

At the moment there is no requests pending, and last change to my profile was the 17th Jan, the person I was talking to today did say what I was due would be in my account in a few days but should it show online also in my PAYE account ?
