Are either of these cables correct for VGA to TV?

That cheap one looks like it's got female connectors on it, which won't plug into your TV as they're also female. One thing to be aware of though is that you can't get audio through the VGA out on your computer, so you'll need to hook that up separately. My TV has a VGA in on it so I connect that to the PC for video and connect the headphone jack on the PC to the audio in port on the DV and Robert's your father's brother.

Thanks a mill for the replies, I'm going to give the cheap one a try so :)
I'm pretty sure I have one of those scart adapters and will pick up an audio connection cheap enough.

    Thanks! :pac:

    ^This.
Also. Check if your tv has an Audio In port. If not then no point in spending money on something that will connect to the computers VGA port only.

TV has an audio input no grand there, is there such a thing as a (cheap!) adapter that converts the RCA/AV from female to male?

You can get an RCA cable with male connections on both ends in a lot of places so that should do you, they're quite cheap too. You'll only need to hook up the video one on it which is usually the yellow connector, just make sure the adapter you buy isn't for component video or it probably won't work!! I'd recommend a VGA to RCA/S Video adapter (type that into ebay and you should find loads) that will definitely work for what you want.

Thanks Mocadonna, great advice. I just re-checked the back of the tv and I don't think the cheapo connection is going to work (I've bought it anyway) so will get one of those connections you've recommended.
The RCA/AV connections on the tv are the same shape as the one's on the lead (female) so I'll need to adapt them to male alright.
