    Hi All,

The above is the budget, using the cycle to work, for a new bike.

I know it is tight as regards carbon options but aside from Planet X what are they?
Most options at this price seem to be 105 or maybe at a push Ultegra( or partial Ultegra) alloy framed bikes or carbon with a poor spec.

Any suggestions that I may not have discovered will be much appreciated.

What size are you looking for. I may know of something suitable for you brand new in a bike shop but I won't know what size it is till Monday (or even if it is still in stock)

Boardman pro carbon in Halfords is about 1250 if you produce an AXA policy number, ie 15% off the sale price. Thats a 7.7kg carbon bike with Ultegra as far as i remember. I have the Team Carbon for a year now and have never regretted buying it (4000km done)

Halfords won't give discount on bike to work purchases! Tried it myself at two different stores and got the same answer.

The rubble bike is stunning, my bro in law just bought one in the uk, don't see many here but it was great value

Nice bike, join the CSS loyalty club and you can get it cheaper (10% off bikes through the loyalty scheme).

    Not quite true.
If you're paying with a company credit card (in your name) there is no problem with the 15% discount.
