    Well lads,
Just wanted to get a bit of advice from all you techies out there. I'm due to start college next year in Maynooth and I'm looking to buy a laptop but don't know really what to get. I'm doing an Arts degree in Music Technology and History hopefully so I would need a laptop with a nice bit of memory, good bit of ram, an i5 processor and I'd like for it to be light to carry around. For the Music course I need to be able to run Recording and Production programs and for the history its just the basics. Any advice on models and stuff would be great, thanks

That would be like the dream machine but unfortunately, as a prospective student whos purchase is gonna be self funded, I doubt I'll have that money. My friend showed me this one and said it would be good? Any opinions?

    Yea, I do.

There's very rarely a situation where you NEED a mac, you may convince yourself that you need one because you want one.
