    Hi all,

As the subject line suggests, I'm new to the area of hifi and looking to get my first proper hifi system.

I've been contemplating the Zeppelin Air from B&W, but I'm not sure if this is forcing myself down the Apple road. I may well take this road, but I'd like to have the option I think!
Also having heard it, and another of my options, the Arcam Solo Mini, I think the mini system is the better choice for sound.
I've also been contemplating the Denon Ceol and the Marantz CR603.
I do feel I'd like to have the option of streaming music, most of my music is iTunes based, so I'm wondering how I'd achieve this if I went the Arcam Solo Mini route? I visited Cloney Audio and will return there to demo so options. They suggested the Sonos Zoneplayer90 would allow streaming to the Mini? Is this the case, and would this work with the majority of my music currently in iTunes? Its also on a Windows pc, not an Apple at present. I think the Neo by Arcam may be outside my budget.
Am I missing any other possible options?

Can you also recommend some speakers for the above? I've read Monitor Audio BX2 and B&W 685 are worth considering.

All help and advice greatly appreciated,
    Terry.

    Hi Terry,
I think you are definitely on the right track, depending on your available budget all of the above would be good options - I recently went through the same decision process as yourself and looked at most of these options. Arcam have come out with a new wireless DAC called the Arcam rBlink which can be hooked up to the Arcam Solo Mini to give it bluetooth music capabilities.
Having said that, I think for the money, the Marantz M-CR603 and Denon Ceol RCDN7 take some beating, as they have network streaming facilities already built in, plus the ability to play CD's, DAB, FM/AM and iPod. I went for the Marantz personally with B&W 685 speakers. Maybe find a good local dealer with both on demo and have a listen to see what you think? I went for the Marantz - very pleased :)
