Shutters.

Has anyone fitted shutters to their windows or doors?

In my kitchen I've got french doors that I'm not sure what to do with. I've looked at shutters on-line. They look fab. No doubt they're expensive. I never mind paying for quality.

Gone are the days when you'd borrow the money and get the job done. Now I'll be saving for the job so God knows if I'll be doing it this year or whenever.

    Thanks.

I've just come online to see if I can find anyone who can paint my new shutters and sash window.

Saw your post. I have an excellent supplier of Victorian shutters for you if you want them. Nice guy, decent price- for comparison: 1K + vat for shutters to fit a window 600mm off the ground, 2000mm high, 1000mm wide with a 300 deep frame all round. He didn't make a penny on it actually. 3 week delivery.

Pm me if you want his details. 1-1.5K may seem a lot but they look like the original and other architect friends have also used him with satisfaction.

Any recommendations on a decent painter would be appreciated. I don't want pretend painters- this is an expertise woefully abused by idiots who think holding a paintbrush will do.
