Why are these idiots trying to cost people jobs? The people working there didn't do anything wrong, nor did the guys who took over.
The HQ of the Quinn Group in Co Fermanagh have been damaged in a fire tonight.

Police said they are treating the blaze at the premises on Ballyconnell Road in Derrylin as suspicious.

The fire comes weeks after a lorry was driven in to the building's canteen.
A spokesman said the blaze was reported shortly before 7.00pm, by which time the fire had already caused damage to the building.

Detectives in Enniskillen have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

The site has been attacked on a number of occasions since former billionaire Sean Quinn lost control of his business empire.

The former tycoon has condemned the attacks and called for an end to the incidents.

There's a lot of mindless hate-filled idiots out there. I'm actually pleasantly surprised that acts such as this against banks etc are not more common.

Did it? ;) I guess I'm bound to ruffle a few feathers when I call it like I see it.

I did notice that someone said I stand by what I say, which to me is a major compliment!

    What did he do?

He ran his business into the ground. Took money from Quinn Insurance and used it to shore up his other businesses. Financial Regulator looked at the Quinn Insurance accounts, saw that they are dangerously short of cash (rendering them unable to cover claims) and took them over.

Since Sean Quinn is popular in that area, some of the usual scum seem to think that he was hard done by, and so have decided that the new guys are not deserving of it and the place should be burned out. Or something.

Insane troll logic, but that appears to be it.

Yeah it did amongst free thinkers, although i would not single out any poster i admired there, i also admire Amerika who posts on the US politics thread he ruffles lots of feathers too but when it is not too extreme ruffling feathers is a good thing IMO, unless of course people just want to be part of a circle jerk.

you both ruffle feathers without getting too tied to any philosophy!:)

While I don't condone the burning of the place...they do advertise themselves as being one of the worlds largest insurance companies yet they insisted on having the sale partially funded by having all insurance policies sold in the state loaded with a 2% levy to support the sale. If they can tout themselves as being one of the worlds largest insurance companies surely they can stand on their own two feet and not go taking over companies using other peoples money

What I meant was that the guys who took over did nothing wrong by taking over.

They might if they couldn't understand that the phrase actually means "not being a hypocrite" and living according to what I say, instead of incorrectly guessing that it means something completely different.

    Now - back on topic.

At the end of the day this country is cesspool of corruption. I read recently about a board member of anglo, he was given a bonus by the new f**kers in charge, the bonus was to cancel out a loan outstanding to anglo. Well I just hope that these kind of privileges roll down hill to us ordinary folks.

Why oh why does Séan Quinn seem to get worse news every day or two?

No matter how large or small that HQ is in Fermanagh, It is to cost jobs at the end of the day. IMO, Any person living in Ireland right now, especially at Quinn, do not want to see their jobs or businesses lost through unexpected events.

I would say that, the people who did this regardless must have a great hate for Séan Quinn. The staff members do feel in a pretty awful state at the rate of attacks that has happened to them. Safety has to a first and foremost priority for him to tackle.

He needs to tackle this safety one way or another, because his financial position is not safe at all. He has the fear of more debt being burdened onto his back than the €2.8 billion he already owes. How much? Who knows?

I could be wrong, but, I'll bet that extra Security Procedures may be reviewed at the HQ and for his staff. IMO, they will need to be reviewed quite quickly in order to stay safe in that sort of business environment.

And then again, if every job goes, than he'll probably have to sell everything to get his massive debts cleared.

Sean Quinn no longer owns or controls Quinn Insurance. Why would he be saddled with the repair bills?

Paying for it? You would think the government was paying off his debts and then giving him his company back. They seized his company and are running it to keep people in work and to honour insurance policies.

That's only half the story, since we also own the cesspit that is Anglo.

So we're paying off his debts to those who gave Anglo the money for those loans.

And in the meantime Quinn keeps the assets and/or gives the assets to family members, which is akin to "giving him the assets back".
