    Hi,

I got a new laptop at Christmas and use it for work. I can login to most websites, but there are some that keep throwing up error HTTP 404.

In one case, I am trying to login to a work website. I can login using my old computer but I cant with my new one.

I am no techie but it has to be something to do with the software/virus protection settings. Now I have IE 9 on my new laptop and older version on my older one.

I didnt try logging in simultaneously and I had my account checked and password reset in case.

Can anybody give me any tips/suggestions as the company have been very slow to fix my problem (cause its limited to my pc).

Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you tried other browsers like chrome or firefox?

Is this work website open to the public or a private website just for employees run from the office network?

I have tried other browsers but I am a creature of habit and am comfortable/satisfied with IE.

That said, its a website for financial brokers (ie not simply an intranet) to login and view all their business with the company. I dont have problems with other Insurance companies and I can actually login with one of my older PCs (thats why I thought it might be IE9).

Just really frustrating as I need it to install applications online.

I will try installing firefox, dont like chrome after hearing that if you try to uninstall it can leave loadsa crap on your pc. If you have any alternative suggestions I would appreciate it.

This can happen sometimes if the time and date is wrong, especially for sites like PayPal online banking etc
    check the time is correct
