Not sure if posted before but one of the best cockpit cam videos I've ever seen. Some brilliant angles and shots

    Really nice.

    Avianca perhaps?

Judging by the scenary, the red under the cockpit window and his red tie/ID.

Yep Avianca alright, his work ID around his neck as well.

Few more cool vids on his YT site.

Go Pro again I suppose. If anyone asked what it's like to fly. This is the video I would tell them to go look at.

It must have been a gusty day, look at how much the sidestick was being moved during the approaches. I thought aeroplanes fly themselves these days!

I think this is part of the same video without the music.

Interesting that they use an iPad. Is this common?

Well I read something about 2-3 months ago about the FAA passing iPad's as an approved cockpit device.

I read that a few airlines were going Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) for all their dispatch/nav aids/flight ops stuff. A tablet would seem to be a lot easier to handle that a larger laptop/netbook.

I could see them being very handy for display of Jeppsen charts/weather maps.
And with the expected connectivity of aircraft in the future a tablet/laptop could display real time weather data as it is received.

Lufthansa pilots use them alright but I don't know if they are company issue.
Actually Lufty have been using small laptops for years now for perfomance calculations etc.

Article regarding a Finnair A340 and how putting an EFB away affected pilots in such a way they nearly took off on a taxiway. Obviously, bit more to it than that but was a big factor.
