TDS HAVE ASKED authorities in Leinster House to examine whether it might be possible for the Oireachtas to recruit JobBridge interns on their behalf – after being advised they cannot hire them individually.
Public Accounts Committee chairman John McGuinness said today that the three-person team which works full-time on committee business was struggling to keep up with its workload.

He suggested that the recruitment of JobBridge interns – who are paid €50 per week on top of their usual dole payments – could be a novel way of helping Oireachtas business to run more smoothly at minimal cost to the State.

rather than cut their expenses or pay............truly a let them eat cake moment they actually think they are doing people a favour by offering them the "wonderful opportunity to work for them" PUKE

    These guys are vermin!

I think you'll find that they have cut their pay and expenses.

Where have they said that they "think they are doing people a favour"?

What's wrong with people on the dole gaining some experience that may well help them get a job in the future?

Why do you say they are vermin? What are they gaining by doing this?

I can guarantee you those internships will be filled should they be advertised.

And I'd give you 5-1 that the interns accepted will find themselves earning 25k+ within two years of starting.
