Hey this is a question for an anatomy exam I have on Monday. I would really appreciate if someone could help me out.
'What nerves are related to the thyroid gland and why are they important?'

Sorry, this reply is way too late but clinically the most important nerves near the thyroid are probably the left and right recurrent laryngeal nerves which run posterior to the gland and supply the vocal cords. If one is damaged during thyroidectomy the patient may have hoarseness - but damage both and the patient may have difficulty breathing.
