Aer Lingus - Berlin Terminal 2(or long walk to Terminal 1)

    Hi All,

I'm just wondering about a flight to Berlin with Aer Lingus from Dublin airport. In the past I have been caught out by Aer Lingus having me go through security in Terminal 2 and casually eating breakfast only to discover that my flight is going from Terminal 1.

They get you to "check in" in Terminal 2 but your flight still goes from the old Pier in Terminal 1.

So does anybody know if the Berlin flight is actually departing from Terminal 2 or not?

The allocated date may well change from day to day and might not be known until the day before departure. It may even change moments before the expected boarding time due to all sorts of factors. I've often heard announcements for last minute gate changes.

Maybe check the board before you go get your brekkie. If it doesn't give the specific gate number, it might at least say what area it's in? I've only used T2 once and can't remember if the gate area is given when the gate number isn't yet known.

I got that flight back to Berlin a few days ago, I checked in at T2, but had to walk to T1 for the actual flight (same thing last March), it was the same for my husband who flew back to Berlin a few days before I did, so I assume it's pretty much always that way, it's not that long a walk though.

Nope its not that long it's true but when you are eating a breakfast thinking the plane is likely only over there(T2) and the board then updates itself it added 10 minutes to the walk. When we arrived the plane was nearly full boarded.

This happened on Glasgow and Munich as well so just making sure in advance.

Personally I hate T2 because passport queues are longer and you have to walk back to T1 to catch the bus's to the hotels/car parks.

10 minutes? There's very little difference in walking to the B pier and walking down to the gates at the end of T2 (426 etc.)

Passport queues vary at different times of the day, most of the time it is very quiet but when a few flights come in around the same time that's when the queue get longer. The coach park is more or less the same distance from both terminals, maybe slightly closer to T1, although I get your point about the other buses, although the walk only literally takes 2 minutes from the door of T2.
