    Hi all,

Have been searching for this tv tuner card for a home Media/TV server that would stream TV & media around my home network:

    http://shop.blackgold.tv/epages/BT3159.sf/en_AU/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BT3159/Products/BGT3600

But it doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere, can anyone point me to somewhere that sells this card?

Alternatively, can anyone recommend a two card solution?

Is it better to get a dual T2 and a dual S2 or is it better to get 2 combo T2/S2 tuner cards?

Likely to be running to Windows 7 media center and extending it to xboxes.

this is the card i use, its fine for saorview, you should find it cheaper online with a bit of patience

dual tuners are the way to go from a space and cost POV. if its an all-in-one card, (like the big blackgold card), its even better value and takes up less space. the only downside is the single point of failure. if you have multiple separate tuners, you can afford to lose one, if the blackgold 6-in-1 goes down you are screwed!

combo tuners are a bit of a waste. in that they are usually 1 shared tuner that does dvb-t & s on the same circuit. becuase of this you cant watch one channel and record another at the same time. dual-combo tuners get around this, but you will have 2 tuners in stead of the 4 you would get from 2 separate dual tuner cards

    Thanks subway!

Does that card receive the HD content too?

It has two tuners, so does that mean it can record 2 channels simultaneously, or can it record even more? I think I read somewhere that certain TV software can record the entire mux i.e. more than one channel per tuner?

it receives saorview RTE2HD, as thats broadcast as dvb-t. i dont think there are any plans for dvb-t2 in ireland.

yes, there is software that can record eveything in the mux, windows media centre doesnt unfortunately. it all depends on your setup really.
