    Hi Folks,

I recently asked for sky sports to be removed from my package (couple of months ago), mainly because the boxing season was filtering out and i'd be away for a bit. I was charged 10 euro for the pleasure, I was on 'FIBRE ULTIMATE' pack. Having returned and decided to get sports again, I was infromed the package no longer existed and I'd probably have to opt for a new package, which turns out to be around 20 dearer for the exact same package I had in november. They (upc) were due to call be back re same, but I've heard nothing since. Anyone had a similar experience ?? If so, what was the outcome ?? Thanks in advance.

    Gar

ps..Jason UPC, any help would be appreciated.

    Hi GARR

Sky Sports is an add on to your tv/broadband/phone bundle. It can be added at any point, and removed at any point, however, removing it does incur a charge as you indicated.

I can confirm that we still have our Ultimate bundle in place.

Please feel free to call my team directly on 1890940635 if you want to discuss bundles and pricing, they would be happy to help you out.

    Hope that helps

    Regards

UPC should get rid of cancellation charges, as UPC can see some customers may not want a 12 month contract they may wish to decided to have an add on package for just one month or six months. I suggest that UPC bring in a monthly cost for packages, outside the usual 12 month. E.g.

Get Sky Movies pack for €35 per month or for €31 per month for a 12 month contract. (This €35 includes your so called cancellation fee).

Customers who have passed the 12 month contract should not be charged for a downgrade. After all they are long term customers, who may decide in the future to upgrade. (A cancellation charge can remain if the cust does not finish their 12 month contract).

I think this is only fair.

    Hi there

ITV 2, 3 & 4 were re-applied to most UPC cabled homes back in December. ITV 3 & 4 are not available on our MMDS aerial platform unfortunately

If you are in a cabled home, I would suggest you call our technical support team on 1908, and they will talk you through resetting your box etc

    Thanks

    Howdy Folks

After a bit of giving out it's been all sorted by 'Customer Loyalty Section', got my original package back for more or less the same price I had previously.

    Cheers

    Hi there

We do have some geographical difference's in our channel line up, and Tipp town is one area that ITV 3&4 are not available due to this I am afraid.

Hi as people probably know you can now speak directly to a customer rep directly on the UPC website,it is very handy.

customer loyalty gave us a very good deal last sept so i was not being greedy when i noticed that sky movies was being promoted at half price for the first two months on channel 100.

i asked the rep would it mean signing up to sky movies for twelve months or could i sign up for the two months and was told that the offer is now over.
to be fair CH 100 has now removed the half price offer on movies but not on sport.

my reasoning was that at half price for two month as well as the downgrade fee it would still be value.

my questions are why is sky movies not promoted anywhere near as much as sports, is it a 'loss leader' to UPC?

why don't UPC offer sky movies one or two especially since some of the sky movie channels are not carried by UPC .
it turned out that having one particular of the screens as Sky carry them would suit our tastes and watched hardly any films carried on the other screens.

less than 17 euro extra per month would be affordable to us but nearly 32 euro a month on top of our current UPC costs is not and is overpriced anyway.
why not offer it UPC?,surely an extra 17 euro a month from a customer is better than nothing extra,it seems to make no sense.?

the downgrade fee is silly as it discourages people from upgrading in the first place, again depriving UPC of extra income.

until Movies on demand and VOD are available the downgrade fee should be abolished i think.

be good to hear from Jason but i think there are some answers he could not divulge the answer to
    any thoughts from others?

Thanks Jason for that ,but can you tell me if there are any plans to improve that in the future and are there any new channells coming out soon, seems very unfair that we are missing out on channells and still pay the same price as everyone else.

the other thing i was going to ask you was that i recently enquired about broadband and phone package from upc and this is also not available yet in Tipp Town. can you find out when this will be available please.

Yes, we are constantly investing and are looking to upgrade as many places for all services, whilst also improving our product offering as much as we can for our customers. Unfortunately, I am unable to advise however on dates etc without approval as you can hopefully understand.

We have tv with upc, digital with sky and phone/broadband with someone else so as you can imagine we are paying well over the odds! I am thinking of moving everything to upc.In researching this I have heard their broadband is excellent but a lot of people complain about their tv eg in relation to quality etc. Also will there ever be an app to view tv "on the go" like sky?

I assume that on the go is limited to sky channels?

Do you get premium sports from sky and do you want hd or are you simple looking for the irish and fta uk channels?

I get the sports channels and don't want HD.I don't just want FTA and bc,utv etc.I'm thinking now, after looking into it a bit more, to have sky for tv + two multirooms. Also to move to UPC for phone/broadband .
