For any mandolin players out there, what songs do you think sound great on the mandolin?

Springsteen's version of Mary Don't You Weep is one of my favourites to play.
    Also, most Irish ballads.

are you playing mandolin? I would love to get one. But I'm left handed and they are hard to find.... I have a folk band man, was wondering if you played, if you'd like to jam with us?

Well this thread's been about as popular as a bones player.

Mandolin really isn't that popular, huh?

Anyway, another two songs I've been playing recently are Man Of Constant Sorrow and Rory Gallagher's Goin' To My Hometown.

Led Zepplin's battle of evermore is the class Mandolin song everybody learns!!!

I used to enjoy playing Waiting For An Alibi by Thin Lizzy on Mandolin. I transposed it to Am and played all the harmony parts with Diads (two note chords) - sounds cool.

You shook me all night long is quite good fun to play (Nice mandolin friendly key of G!!!).

The main riffs from Trouble and Dearg Doom by Horslips are good fun to play too.

    Cheers,
