Our tank was bought new 2 years ago and spreads approx 50000 gallons per year, its spread the slurry the last 2 years, so thats 100000 gallons.

    Time for a change?
How often do you change the gear oil in your slurry tankers?

Mine changes itself! just top it up now and again:D

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Same as that. We keep the drip going every 3 seconds and keep her topped up with oil on a regular basis. Spread 200,000+ gallons every year.

I think the OP meant the gearbox, where the pto shaft goes on Reilig. I keep that one topped (90/140 oil) up as the seal is gone around the pto stub shaft.

Ya I was referring to the gearbox oil, the other vacuum tanker oil changes itself so to speak;)
Dropper on it set to one drop every 3 seconds

Its done at different times of year.

I'll drop the 3 tanks to half way in early march and cover the drier meadows that'll be about 50 or 60 load. I'll get a foot or 2 of pig slurry put into each tank and they'll be full again by the end of April when the cows are getting out. I'll completely empty all tanks at the end of april covering the rest of the meadows and any pasture that is bare.

Pig farm will be stuck for space once the growing season gets into full swing (May/early June) and will be mad to get rid of lorry loads of slurry so I'll let them fill the big tank (4 bay double). I'll spread it on pasture as its eaten over the summer - there's no need to agitate pig slurry.

    Its cheaper than fertilizer!

The Mrs does her share of spreading!

Sorry to hijack this thread but do any of ye know what would cause a slight knocking noise that appears to be coming from the PTO on the tanker when spreading, its probably there when filling as well but cant hear it over the noise of the pump, any ideas?
