I've covered some huge mileage in a 7 (good but heavier than a 5 admittedly) and have the following observations
1.) Dunlop Sport Max II's great tyre quite pricy very grippy but from a longevity POV useless!
2.) Currently running (last 2 sets) on Michelin PS's excellent grip an last ages - well worth the extra outlay
3.) Have Conti winters on at the moment and they ate excellent but I'm driving in subzero and snow all the time here so had to grin and bear the cost of them

Thanks for that... Might go for my second option with Michelin PS at the back and the Goodyears at the front. Only reason I'm not going Michelins all round is I can't get the front tyres at a decent price. I can get the Michelin PS 275/30/19 for 295 per corner fitted and balanced.

I have the Sessantas in 225/40/r18 and 255/35/r18 fitted to my E90 M Sport and find them very good, alot quieter and smoother than the RTF Michelin Pilots SP2s that came off the car.

Grip in the dry and wet on the Sessantas is excellent, a few lads over on a BMW forum are running them on their M3s and are happy with them too.
