    Hi Guys/Ladies
Im just about to buy my first road bike and am thinking about the felt F85,
Aiming to do a few triathlons this year so would anyone like to tell me whether it's a good/bad bike?
The one i am looking at is available to view on The Edge Cork website.
If anybody would take time to have a look and tell me whether they think it's a good deal i'd be glad of the advice.
I'll post a link to the bike but i'm a newbie here so don't really know if i'm allowed to.
    Cheers

I ride a Felt Z85 as my winter training bike and like it a lot. The one thing I wouldn't be happy with is the Microshift gearshifters that are on the bike in your link. I'd look at upgrading them to 105 or Tiagra you'll be glad in the long run. The Mavic cxp22 rims are good for a starter bike not sure about the felt Hubs. The price quoted seems to be the standard price around the bike shops for the f85.
Hopefully you'll get a few mores replies to guide you. Best of luck with getting your bike.

I bought the F85 last year and find it pretty good.

I would think it is one of the better road bikes for less than E1000. Has some 105 components too where most bikes at this price range have Tiagra.

Did a few triathlons and duathlons also and found it good.

Let me know if you have any more specific questions.

yeah I reckon its a good entry level, recommended it to my brother in law last year, presume they've kept the spec the same or similar.

the only thing I don't like as mentioned before is the microshift levers, but I'm used to tiagra, 105 and DA. if you're not used to one style already then you won't even notice. otherwise it's an easy swap.

higher spec'd generally than comparably priced giant, trek, specialized or lapierre. the only other brand comes close I reckon is cube.

I have one of these (more or less, bought three years ago) and i really like it. It was my first and, so far, only road bike so i have nothing really to compare it to but it was a joy to ride from the off. Tiagra shifters on mine too.

I'll probably upgrage in a couple of years but for now, at my ability, it's it's as good a bike as i need or deserve. Excellent starter bike.

    Thanks guys,
That's 4 positive reviews, nearly time to do some shopping methinks! I'll suss out an upgrade on the shifters and if i can afford it i'll bump up to 105's.
@Kenmc : Would love a Cube Agree or even a decent spec'd Streamer but i think they are just outside my price range.
Thanks all, hopefully i'll be as happy as you guys if i go for it.
    Much Appreciated.

No one playing the Canyon card?

If I had 999 to buy a bike I'd get the roadlite. Think the delivery dates might be much quicker now they're stocked for 2012

Make that 5 Doozer. I've an F75, probably marginal difference between the two. F85 is a very solid starter bike, and you'll see plenty of bikes with lower spec than it at races.
