Picasa and external hard disks

Hi all - quick question for picasa3 users. I've got a load of my pics on an external drive, and I've used the drive as a picasa library (and gone through all the facial recognition stuff) but when I disconnect the external drive and reconnect a couple days later, it's forgotten all of the faces.

Is this what happens? Or is there another way I can get it to somehow keep the information between connections?

You might need to change the drive scanning from 'always scan' to 'scan once'
