B.corp law if you don't want to be a sollicitor?

Hey I'm a bit torn between putting down commerce or b.corp law as my number one,I'm leaning more towards b.corp law except I'm not sure if I want to be a sollicitor or a barrister mainly because of "horror" stories about the country being flooded with sollicitors and barristers etc and besides I'm not sure if I would like to pursue those professions anyway! soo my question is would the b.corp law still be a valuable degree to have? and what kind of jobs could I do with it?

You do have the option of doing a Masters in a facet of Law after completing a B.Corp. A number of Law lectures in NUIG don't have PHD's so you can (if you get a job:p) go on to lecture with just a masters.

Large solicitor firms also look for graduates and offer interim places while they fund your studies. You're usually given a full job after completing such studies.

You can go on to do virtually any postgraduate degree with your undergraduate degree (B.Corp) so if you decide you would like to branch out to maybe the business world, you won't have difficulty getting a place in a masters course on business provided you have a decent degree grade.

It is theoeretically possible to lecture with a masters but if you want to lecture in a university nowadays, you'd need to have a lot of work experience to get in the door without a PHD.

TBH, there are enough Lawyers at the moment and it's tough enough to find clients nowadays.

Wow interesting insight thanks guys and @Skopzz I thought so should I go for commerce so? I think I'd like to do something like management consultancy so I might do commerce and the post grad in management consultancy from ucd would that be a wiser choice? if my parents and I can afford it lol

I highly recommend you do Corporate Law over Commerce. Both courses offer a broad range of employment possibilities but many global companies prefer graduates with legal backgrounds. I cannot over stress the importance of taking a language in either course - looks great on the CV.
Unless you are absolutely certain of doing management consultancy, I can assure you that your career choice will vary wildly over your college life. Don't pigeon-hole yourself into that career, and masters, just yet - there is so much more out there than what you know currently.
