Jobseeker's Allowance

Hope you don't mind me hopping on this thread but I am on Jobseeker's Allowance and understand that I can collect this in the post office on Tuesdays only. I was on Jobseeker's Benefit until recently and I could collect it on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

I live in the country, need to be in Dublin this coming Tuesday and won't be able to get to the post office. Will I lose my money or does anybody know whether there is more flexibility than what I think there is around collect the payment i.e. do I have 2 or 3 days to collect it or does it specifically have to be a Tuesday otherwise I lose the payment.

Any replies greatly appreciated.

I think strictly speaking you have to collect it on the day, but it isn't always the case. Depends on the swo and post office really. I can collect mine on a monday when I was meant to collect it on wednesday, but a friend of mine in a different area has to collect it that day or it is sent back.
If it does get sent back you go to your swo and reclaim it, don't know how long this takes though

Thank you Stacyxd. I will check with post office and swo tomorrow and see if they have any flexibility.
