Do you lose marks if an essay is too short? I've one due tomorrow and I seriously doubt that i'll get it to the required length and was wondering if they would take a lot of marks off for it? Thanks!

You likely will. There's a plus or minus 10 percent rule on word-counts in order to give you some leeway. In my view, it's better to be over the word-count than under, but it doesn't always turn out that way unfortunately. Just try your best to meet the minus 10 percent.
