Borocca while on the Bike

    Hey all,

Went out for a spin today, I tend to do 32km, but today was pushing it up to 55+. So I mixed in a table of borocca into one of my water bottles, just thought that the flavour would help but it may be good for energy...

    I ended up doing 58.5km, in 2hrs 20mins...

I was happy with my spin, but just want to ask, is the borocca a good idea or bad, and should I just stay with water?

    Cheers in advance guys

Vitamins and caffeine is a bit too hardcore. Quit now or you might regret it.

On a more serious note: Whatever works best for you. I used to mix red bull in my bidons for sportives a couple of years ago. I can't say it worked and I can't say it didn't.

Won't do you any harm, would be cheaper to mix in some orange squash though!

Use the likes of this instead: www.cyclesuperstore.ie/shop/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=249&idproduct=43011

i use boroca in the bottle all the time - works very well for me, gives you a bit of a boost. i take one bottle with boroca and one with water.

What kind of distances are you doing?

Used Borocca for a while, mainly off the bike, but stopped as it made my sweat stink. Would take a glass of it in morning and by 2-3pm had a serious BO problem. You know it's bad when you notice your own BO.
Might stop people sitting on your wheel!!

There are no calories in berocca. It's all vitamins. Not a bad idea before you go riding, but as useful as water while you're riding. Bring at least a second bidon with an energy drink for 100km. Flavour definitely helps though. You can't drink too much water on any spin.

For that distance I would have two bidons of energy drink; Though with little or no solid food.

For a 2hr ride, a little solid food. Like a sandwich.

That stuff couldn't possibly be good for the kidneys, especially not on a long cycle when dehydration can be an issue at the best of times.

it's a nice way to get the vits in but it comes out like highlighter ink!
