It's possible but you'll have to watch the same channel in each room.

i have another general question about this.
Currently our house is running with 2 tvs hooked up to the same sky box.
So the cable from RF2 is running through the attic and down.

I want to cut the cable in the attic, install an amplified splitter and connect another tv in a different room.

My question is, is it awkward to put connections on the ends of the wires?

my main issue now is cutting a wire which will potentially allow me have sky in 2 rooms or cuts it to the second tv if i get it wrong :P
or am i better off rewiring the first connection also? - getting a 10M cable to run into the attic, plugging the original one in up there and plugging it into the splitter?

Did this a few years ago for the parents, have 3 rooms running off the main skybox,I just used Y connectors in the attic and ran the cable from them. You can use better quality splitters than those. It's easy enough to connect up,the splitter has directions for connecting the cable written on it i.e In and Out.

Here's an example of what you need and a video to help.

That should work, but if you want to be able to change channel from the other rooms (it'll change the channel on ALL TVs mind) then you'd need to go up a level.....

....you'd need to "split" the cable using a "sky eye" compatible amp and then put a sky eye at the other 2 TVs, enabling power to RF2.

Can't remember the costs offhand but if you are aiming for this post back and I'll price all the bits & pieces.

Yes i want to be able to change channels in all rooms. I looked at the costs on amazon. magic eye is around 5 euro, and a splitter is around 15 quid (amped one) for a 4 way split - which i figure is worth it incase of future expansion anyway.
I looked at normal 2 way splitters online, infact i have one in the house anyway even and comments (as above also) said theyre ok but can be dodgy with the eye - weak signals over long cables, eye doesnt have power to work etc, so i figured id just go and get the amped one to prevent potential) trouble, as i know they will want to be able to change it in all rooms also

wiring doesnt seem too difficult from that video. just need a few connector heads. I got one for something else recently for a euro for the tv even, so 2 F connector heads,
20m cable f type to coaxial
    magic eye
    f140 splitter
    another new sky remote

i reckon its the bones of 50 quid.. be worth it though.

cheers for vid above. its what i wanted to see.

btw if anyone sees a good offer on a 40-50 inch tv be great if ye cud share. around the 500 mark. full hd,

Be sure to buy the correct 'F' plug to suit the cable. See fitting technique. No fancy tools required.
