Netbook screen damage

    Morning all.

    My 2 year old handed me my MSi netbook with the screen looking particularly unhealthy.
    See pics attached.
    The right is completly black with verical lines. (this is exactly 50% of the screen witdh BTW, incase that matters)
    The left side is fine at startup but the colours will start to go negative after about 5mins.
    I didn't see what happened to the machine but I get the screen was folded too far back.

    Is this something that can fixed?
    Is it worth fixing?
    The netbook cost about €400 12 months ago.

    New screen required there on ebay at 38 sterling.

    Hi MP22,
    This not something I have searched for before on eBay.
    Can you post a link to you eBay search?
    I have a quote for 110 to have it repaired.
    Given the poor performance of this machine th start with I am reluctant to spend much on a repair.

    What is your netbook model? Is it U135dx? if so, here's a link to one of the many sellers of those screens on ebay. There probably is a cheaper one there somewhere, but that's the top result.

    That one is a couple of quid cheaper than the one I found.
