Help, tv points & aerial

    Hi Guys,
I want to install tv points in my house, builder never installed these as requested when building 10 years ago so there is tv sockets on the walls but no cable behind them except for living room & builders no longer exist so cannot follow them up.
    1. How can I do this, will I have to break open plasterboard and install cables to each tv point I need and then direct them to a central point?
    2. Is there a central point in the loft for the cables from each room to meet or how do I find out ?
    3. What do I connect these to before they are connected up to the aerial on the roof, Is there an adaptor or box or something?
    4. Will 1 aerial/satellite dish on the roof be enough for the 5 tv points.
    5. I then want to get a saorview / free sat combi box for the living room for digital pictures there and eventually I want to get same box for each room to have digital in all with no monthly subscriptions.
    6. Will it be expensive to get the tv points & new aerial installed from scratch with skilled professional installer.
Apologise for all questions but want to know what I am doing before ringing installers.

    1. Was there any conduit installed to run cables later? It'll be expensive and messy to chase wall, remove plasterboard. Can the cable be run behind skirting or under carpet etc.

    2. It would be best to run cables to a central point, easier for distributing the signal to the TV points. Where does the existing co-ax cable from the living room go - attic, hot press, utility?

    3. For the aerial a distribution amplifier should do the job.

    4. One aerial and one satellite dish would suffice. For 5 TV point you'll require 1 feed from the aerial and 4/5 feeds from the dish depending how you combine/distribute the signal. To feed the TV points you'll require at least 2 cables to each TV point and maybe 3 if you want to record the satellite TV channels.

    5. Do a search for combi/combo receivers here in the forums, lots of discussion on them.

    6. It could be expensive to do if you have to go chasing walls etc. It would be best to get an estimate from a professional.

It took me 2-3 long days recently to run sat/aerial cables for a family member, routing cables behind walls, thru floors, installing TV points/aerial/sat dish etc in a 15 yr old house, all cabling out of sight. Maybe a professional would have been quicker but not cheaper. Would you consider doing it yourself?
