I would suggest trying witchvox and check the thread here on moots/meet ups.

Another fella told me about this meet up, but I'm not sure if it's still running.

I'm on the hunt myself, and I've joined a couple of forums, to check about meet-ups.

Pagansineire seems pretty dead, and I'm waiting to hear back from OccultIreland.

The current details for that and all the nights in Dublin are in the moot thread.

    Cool.

Do you happen to know which Friday it is?

Tonight or next Friday, for example?

And is there a difference between a moot and a meet-up? (i'm not actually a wiccan)

I'd suggest emailing the organisers and checking when, the other one runs on the Thursday and there is one on a Saturday out in Bray.

Moot is a term for pagan met ups, think it started in the UK and usually pagans of all type and path are welcome and attend them.

Over the last 15 years I've only ever meet 2 or 3 heathens/asstru, but I have attended blots in the UK and germany which were a lot of fun.

Asatruar do tend to be a bit thin on the ground, it's true.

I had to look asatruar up, but I don't really get it in the context of the thread?

Sharrow mentioned that he'd met relatively few, and I was replying to that. Sorry, I probably should have quoted him to make it more obvious.

Is it any non-Wiccan is an astruar, so?

If anything, I'm a Thelemite, hence the confusion.

    No.

Same as there is a definition about Asstru there is one for Wicca.

I was sure there were other posts in this thread which mentioned Heathen/asstru, either they got deleted or else I got the threads mixed up.

There certainly seems to be an increase of O.T.O. members in Ireland of late.

    No drama.

I'm with the Irish Order of Thelema, who are based in Belfast, so I'm kinda isolated down here, hence my curiosity about the meet-up.

I was just wondering about the Wicca scene, just to get a different angle on things.

The http://www.occultireland.com meet ups used to have a fair few Thelemite at it and other assorted CMs. I don't think they have had a meet up in a while. I know that some who have gone to those do attend the Dublin Pub moot http://www.witchvox.com/vn/vn_detail/dt_ev.html?a=iexx&id=77468. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dublin-Pub-Moot/348036095736

Last time I was at it there was a lively discussion on the influence Crowely had on the work of Alan Moore esp http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Promethea and a discussion on the Yeats exhibition in the national library which features many items from the Golden Dawn.

Hey Mercurius, I'm Abhainn and I'm admin to both PIE and OI. In regards to OI have you had logging in issues? Unfortunately we've had spam bug problems and I've had to alter the way we approve membership. Frustrating beyond belief but if I can help send me a PM and I'll try and get you sorted ASAP or e-mail me: abhainn@pagansineire.com

Unfortunately, another issue facing me with both forums is time. I don't have the time to pop in as much myself because of college work but I hope to revive things again. The Monthly Meet-ups for OI used to happen on the Weekends and since college is so taxing I'm not available to host them until Summer 2012.

We used to have Enochian magicians, GDers, Thelemites and OTO, Chaos magicians as well as Traditional and Eclectic Wiccans and Pagans as well as Christian Mystics and so on. Ye gods I miss OI meet-ups! *tear*

wonder if a lunch time meet up work on a Saturday for OI.

I had registered, but didn't hear anything back.

Sounds real interesting. And I know the story with college.

I'll look forward to the Summer so.
