    I just watched it there. I found it heartbreaking. The loneliness of De Niro's character is the thing that will stand out the most when I think of this film. The only time in the whole film where you see him smile is at the end when he's young again, stoned out of his brain and completely alone.

    I came away sad and bitter:(

    That movie is a masterpiece. The story, characters, period setting. Sergio Leone was a true genius of filmmaking.

    Oh I fully agree. I'm just saying I feel sorry for De Niro's character, eventhough he was a gangster rapist thug:o

    Its a really good film but I found it tough to get through in one sitting. It's probably my least favourite film of Leone's though.

    i could'nt agree more. i usually set aside a bit of time occasionally to watch the full 4 hour version....

    Leone was a visionary.
