Is it possible to pick up the likes of german eurosport on fta without moving the dish. Get bbc, itv etc so just wondering is there a frequency to get stations from europe and even east europe

You would need to add extra lnbs to your dish for Astra 1 and/or Hotbird.

What size dish do you have?

Dont know size but its slightly bigger then the sky dishes.B
early last year our old dish blew out of position then late last year we got a hd tv with sat receiver and were able to get german eurosport before the old dish rusted away so just a friend to put up another dish yesterday. Getting all the usual stations but no eurosport

Eurosport Deutsch is to be found at the 19.2⁰ east position; it shouldn’t be a problem to fit a 2nd lnb to receive from these satellites & will help if your receiver can handle the switching involved.

Is it literally just a matter of attaching a 2nd lnb to to the arm sticking out of the sat dish and pointing it in the right directon?

That's about it, yes. Bear in mind that the dish acts as a mirror, so to receive the Astra 1 sats, which are further west & higher in the sky than Astra 2 (UK channels), you will need to position your lnb further east & lower than the one for Astra 2.
If you have access to a decent meter or can get your tv & receiver within view of the dish, you can find the best position by holding the unattached lnb in front of the dish & watching the strength/quality readings.

The brackets are widely available; a google for 'multi lnb bracket' will throw up plenty of options or try that well known auction site ...

Pic here of a 2nd lnb fitted to a Sky type dish; maybe not from the best angle but will give an idea of what's involved.

Oh, & you also need a DiSEqC switch to combine both lnb feeds into 1. You said your receiver was integral to the tv; find out if it supports DiSEqC or post the make & model here.

Thanks will give it a try and see what I can get. Worse case I,ll have to get someone out to do it but at least it can be done which will keep the other half happy
