    Hi all.

I spoke to my landlord about getting a garage built beside the house I live in. He is happy enough to cover the costs.
I am seriously excited but can't find anyone near Dublin who offers steel garages for domestic use.
To make things worse he has somebody doing ground works beside house tomorrow and they would like to have a look at the foundation requirements an possibly start working on it this week.
I promissed to find the garage and organise delivery. There are few companies doing them when you Google, but very liitle info on their websites, I applied for online quotes with few of them but still waiting. Hoping to come accross somebody in here who can point me in right direction.
    Garage reqirements would be:
6m*4m in in size I guess
    Must be steel
    Budget would be 3000-3500€ delivered
    Can erect myself (I think)

Any advise would be much appreciated.
    Regards.

    Have you tried http://www.steelgardensheds.ie/garden-sheds-ireland.html ?

No affiliation with them, but Blackstone Renault in Drogheda have a big one in their yard with the web address on - pass it every week on the way to Tesco (who I also have no affiliation with - other supermarkets are available).

I will send them an email now. Some of those sheds look a bit tired in the photos.

    http://www.waltongardenproducts.ie/9-10-x-19-18-Utility-Garage-Titanium-Easy-Build-Metal-Garage

    Here you go........
Bought one of this crowds sheds a while back (13'x10') and it took about 3/4 of a day to put together (on my own)
The main problem with a metal shed is the condensation that forms inside the roof and drips down to whatever is underneath. There are ways to avoid this, special paints or insulation etc.

By the way I bought simply on price alone and this company were far cheaper than anyone else. The shed was erected about 3 years ago and still looks the same as the day I put it up.

Was looking at this as well. My only concern would be the width. Is there much room to spare when you park your car? Need to be able to leave tools, power washer etc in the garage as well.

Sounds like a sound landlord! I guess you're doing some of the legwork and it improves his property but still...

I'd advise going to some local steel erector (someone who builds sheds ) they're mostly quiet this weather so deals can be got. A friend of mine was going to buy one of them self erect jobs which are good by the way. He managed to get the garage made to order and erected for less than the price of the self build ones (cost about 2.5k for garage and 550 for the concrete base). The one he had made was a lot stronger than the other ones plus yer man gave him the drawings for it ( so I could be knocking one up myself )

How about a 20 ft steel shipping container?

Was going to go down this route myself but I have enough crap around the house at this stage....

Means you can just pick it up if/when moving and even use it for containing your moveables.

Plenty of adds about. Some even put windows in.

I called a chap at Dublin port and had a deal at 900 for a 20 ft. Don't have the details though and didn't do it in the end.

    Delivery is additional.

I bought a shed off this crowd http://www.h2engineering.ie/.
I don't think you could get cheaper in Ireland and comes with everything to complete inc non-drip roof sheeting.
The sections are made with 1 1/2 '' box iron rather than folded purlins but it did the job perfect for me anyway.

He is really great guy. I know him since I moved to Ireland (11 years). He helped me a lot. He is ready to spend around 5k in total but I would really like to keep his costs to a minimum. I decided to paint the house in summer at my expense to show him i'm gratefull.

This sound ideal. I'm off tomorrow so will make few phone calls. Thanks.

Was looking at them but decided that container wouldn't be an option for two reasons:
    1.Landlord wants someting decent looking
    2. I want to be able to work on the car when it's parked inside, container isn't wide enough.

I'll try to ring up few places tomorrow and see what I can get. Thanks for the suggestions.

Was looking at these. Only thing that concerned me was distance away from Dublin so I was assuming that delivery will be expensive. I gues I'll ask for a quote. Thanks.

Have a look at http://www.steeltechsheds.com/ too. I've no experience of using them, but they're advertising a lot around here.

you get what you pay for, my friend got one from h2 engineering and found the quality and finish not that great, i think the box type steel inside was just powder coated or something and started to rust after few months and the finish was not a good as he expected compared to his friends who got one erected from larach bulidings but it did cost more .
he had to go round the and paint the steel with primer again.
hard to beat the galvanise finish but most now use 2 pack paint on the steel for these type of buildings
