    Hey!

I want to try to start to brew my own beer!!
Is there a shop that people recommend to buy the equipment and everything that is needed??

I like Paulaner and Erdinger and those kind of beers- is there certain type of ingredient to make these??

    Thanks :)

You want a weissbier kit, I guess. Something like this.

as regards Shops, it depends on where you are - there's not much in the way of price differences between the following 3:

    www.homebrew.ie
    www.mybeerandwine.ie
    www.thehomebrewcompany.ie

I've purchased from all 3, all are very helpful if you ring them up in case you have questions. AFAIK all 3 have bricks and mortar stores as well - check their websites for details.

There is also www.homebrewwest.ie based in Galway, I've never used them but I've heard good things.

And also check out beoir.org as Beernut has linked, loads of useful stuff there.

Can anyone recommend one as regards customer service / helpfulness if pricing is roughly the same all round? I like supporting people who
    a) are sound
    b) take an interest in providing decent service

I went into one establishment ready to chat and spend €€€ not so long ago and got a very cool reception indeed. Won't be back.

I've bought almost everything I've ever brewed with from The Homebrew Company, because their selection of hops and grains is unmatched. Their service is close to impeccable with orders usually arriving within 24 hours. I've made mistakes and they've made mistakes, but they've always fixed them.

I've ordered a couple of times from Home Brew West because they had what I wanted for cheaper, and service was perfect.

I use the My Beer and Wine Rathmines shop in emergencies or on impulse and it's grand, when it has what I'm after. They know their stuff if you want to go in and speak to a human.

All three are totally sound and more interested in providing decent service than pretty much any other business I deal with. I don't know what it is about home brewing that brings this out.

Probably not helpful in making your decision but that's what I've found in three years of brewing.
