So a few of us have decided to head over to Aironi in March to the Leinster game. Season ticket holders and I've been to inter-pro away games - next step up is away games on the continent/UK.

Does anyone have any advice particular to the rugby side of things? General travel advice welcome too, though I've done my fair share of that so it's less important.

Has anyone been to Viadana before, know where to avoid or frequent, or is heading over? Anything about the place I should know?

Does anywhere do package deals, etc for Leinster fans going on away games, etc...

(assuming it's possible, from looking at flights, it could be quite awkward to get there - Flight to Turin, train/bus to Viadana, etc).

You could fly over with the team - they go over the day before on a charter flight and go straight to the airport after the match.

You should defo get onto the Official Leinster supporters facebook page because they market packages etc for away trips all the time. they also produce travel guides etc for away trips.

Joe Walsh tours are doing a package for it. You'll be staying in Parma on that. Have a gelato (ice cream) beside the Duomo (cathedral) for me.

Have a gelato for me anyway!

I did that trip last year with the team (Joe Walsh does that one too). It's usually a little pricier but for trips like Aironi it's handy cos there's less fecking about getting there and back. You fly straight into Viadana and have transfers to the hotel and the stadium, which is a bit out of town. We even got free tickets for the match when we got to the ground (of course we'd already bought ours!) so it might be worth waiting until you get there to get match tickets. It won't be full anyway.

Viadana itself is a pretty quiet spot in the evenings and we ended up just heading into the Irish bar that the OLSC pointed us towards for the 1 night we were there. Didn't see a whole lot of the place as we were in and out really. But if the weather is good the stadium itself is quite good. They do a BBQ beside the bar and serve up some really good steak baquettes which went down very well with the beer.

Thanks for the suggestions, lads. Sadly, it apears the Joe Walsh tours were sold out, according to their site. Pity.

Next year maybe. We're going to settle for the Glasgow league game instead, I think. Not quite as glamorous, but probably a more tense game.

May see you there so. I'll be at that one myself...
