Missing Free to air channels?

I have an old Sky box (no longer a Sky subscriber) that I use for Free to air channels.

Lately I noticed some channels are gone off it:mad:

    For example I can no longer get ITV 1, 2, 3 & 4 or E4 or More 4 & Channel 4 plus.

Used to be able to get all these channels free to air.

Have they been taken off or do I have a problem with box/dish? Can I get them back?

ps new channels such as Channel 5 & Channel USA have become available recently and work fine.

I have similar problem. Must be Saorview in the air!

Try adding the channels using the guide Gerry Wicklow recommended. (It is possible they have been moved since your box was originally tuned)

It is possible that you are no longer able to receive channels that are on the 'V'ertical polarisation.

If that is the case you may have a problem with your cable, lnb or sky box.

    Thanks Guys,

Channels are tuned correctly. But while, say, BBC 1 works perfectly, I cannot get the likes of ITV 1.

When I put on the channel for ITV it says:

    "no satellite signal being received"

Had a root around on service menu and noted the following:

    Signal strength @ about 80%

    Signal quality @ about 15%

is this likely to be the cause of my problem? bear in mind I am getting about 90% of the Free to Air Channels perfectly.

might the dish need tweaking? or cables loose somewhere (but appear
    ok on quick check)?

    Any advice appreciated

your dish needs to be realinged, signal strenght and quality should ideally be both over 50%.

Cheers. I'll give it a go tomorrow in daylight.

Can you try another satellite receiver?

adjusted dish slightly and quality strength up to 90% now and all channels coming in:)

Reckon the few stormy nights a few weeks ago had thrown it off. Thanks a mill.
