"The Iranian Boeing 727 hero pilot, who recently landed his malfunctioning plane safely, has launched an internet campaign to counter Western sanctions against Iran's public air transportation sector", Press TV reports.

Fair play to this guy, I can understand sanctions against military aircraft but putting the lives of civilians from both Iranian and international risk because of not supplying essential parts is totally out of order. I wish him the best in his campaign.

If the planes are dangerous they should not be in the air.

In other words let them eat cake.

No take responsibility for their own actions, if the sanctions are causing problems then stop flying.

It's a crude propaganda stunt, he should be ashamed to be involved in it. The sanctions are there for a reason. It's worth noting that sanctions are supported by many countries including Ireland through the EU.

If he feels the aircraft are unsafe it's his responsibility to refuse to fly them. Same with the rest of the airline. In aviation it's fairly black and white when it comes to safety. If they're flying with uncertified or out of time components. Then the responsibility lies with the operator.

If the airline is unsafe it should be banned from overflying other countries.

Ending sanctions on aircraft on aircraft components won't make Iran Air any safer. Just make it easier to obtain parts.

I'd say he has probably been forced to do this by his officials.

Easy to type that.Un-airworthy aircraft take to the skies every day in all parts of the world .The sanctions are a joke.America seem to have nothing to offer this world other than war.

Except that the sanctions are imposed by the UN, EU, Australia, USA etc..................

So where are all these unairworthy aircraft then? Care to let us in on the secret?

So seeing as the UN and co are for it all is ok? Its not right but im not going to argue as its a difference in opinions.

Do you really need examples or do you blindly believe ever aircraft is legally fit to leave the ground.

No, but I don't believe an experienced Captain in Iran won't know the difference. Iran is a civilised country despite the regime in place.

You might believe the Iranian revolutionary guard is a force for good and the Taliban and the North Korean military are fundamentally misunderstood and somehow comparable to the US military for all it's flaws but you are in a minority.

Leave your anti American bias aside and recognise why there are sanctions in place against Iran.

It's a dangerous and despotic regime. Don't take my word for it. My Iranian friends don't like them either.

What rights do they have to police other countries. The world isnt theirs to rule. The Americans are on the other side of the world creating a mess.Do you believe Iran will be better off if invaded by the US.No they wont, look at the state they left Iraq in.(we arent better off after that war either)
The amount of human fatalities on either side from their previous outgoings in the mid east should be making them think about doing it all over again.
Where were the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq??

Iran is by no means the most oppressive regime in the region. I mean the US just signed arms deals with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which is still an absolute monarchy.

At least in Iran there are elections which take place within the Islamic system and the current President is term limited in 2013. Unlike the West's BFF Saudi Arabia.

The sanctions will do nothing except make Iran friendlier with China.

Why don't they just buy Chinese, Brazlian or Russian planes instead and spend their cash elsewhere...

So what's level of oppression is acceptable? Not the most oppressive is still oppressive and rigged elections isn't democracy. Perhaps you'd like to go and live there?

America isn't going to invade Iran, nor is anyone else. That's propaganda, the regime likes to pretend there's a threat but that's mainly to keep their people distracted from their own government's oppression. Meanwhile Iran is building nuclear weapons, interfering in the internal affairs of neighbouring countries, sponsoring terrorism and threatening neighbours.

    All good reasons for sanctions.

If Iran wants sanctions to go away maybe they should consider mending their ways.

You do not know they are building nuclear weapons. You believe every news agency you read hear and look at.For the record im not anti anything but the world has many more serious issues than to be medaling with Iran, but they do have the black gold which America needs to control so badly.
Seeing as you know more than 007 on the internal affairs of Iran, what companies are controlling the oil wells in Iraq?
