And if possible the specific contacts.

Wouldnt go with a large agency for IT positions, you will get lost -

Some agencies dont even want to meet you like - Eolas - they only want to know you if you get an interview

CPL, Abriva, and Brightwater in my experience

Have to agree there, they got me my current role, but also they got me a few interviews in the past and stayed in touch. I like them a lot, and also, anywhere I worked that had their people, the people were really good also. Its not just about them getting you hired, its about getting you hired for the right reasons!

CPL have got me a couple of offers in the past. They've a lot of pretty big clients. One or two of their agents are a bit negative though. Most are really good though. The only thing to watch for is if there is a multi-agency scenario where a lot of contractors are going in from a number of companies, CPL have been known to undercut on rates by as much as 20%. They will give you a rise if you fight your case, according to ex-colleagues.

Hayes & Experis (formerly Elan IT) have delivered for me in recent years.

Brightwater seem ok, but they've never got me an interview.
Morgan McKinley - I like their people but don't recall them ever getting me an interview. ReaITime are ok too.
