Those zoom h1 recorders are excellent for use as a shotgun mic when mounted to hotshoe

So you would say buy one of the ones for 149 and buy the H1 for 99?

Does the H1 plug into the camera at all or is the mic seperated away from the camera then?

Hot shoe, do you have to buy that serperate then?

    Cheers

If you have an external audio input on camera then you just connect a 3.5mm cable . I ve never used a shotgun mic directly but the setup I have works very well with the h1 mounted on top of my 60d
