Computer Course

I am considering doing a night class on computers and am wondering if anyone could advise on the following two Comptia courses -

    Comptia Strata IT Fundamentals
    Comptia A+

I don't work in IT and don't need the course for work. I would be doing it purely out of interest. I am pretty computer literate but would like to learn and understand more about the internal workings of them, how best to troubleshoot when there's a problem with hardware/software etc.

The best place to start is usually the beginning so my hunch is that I should do the fundamental course but if the fundamentals are along the lines of "this is a mouse; this is a monitor; this is how we install software" then it would be a total waste of time and money.

The final consideration is that the fundamental course is about €250 including the exam at the end while the A+ is about €750 including exams.

So basically my question is could anyone give a rough idea of how advanced or basic either course is likely to be?

    Thanks for your help.
