    Hey guys,
    Complete triathlon newbie.
Looking at bikes in The Edge trishop Cork.
    Budget apx 1500.
Should i go for an entry level road bike (apx 800/900 euro) or should i go for something like a Cube Aerium Tri Bike (apx 1500).
Im about 5'10, 10 stone fairly fit.
Any advice appreciated, really don't have a clue what i should be doing!

If you dont have a bike already, just spend the 1500 on a nice road bike and a set of clip on aerobars.
A road bike is the better option for winter training, club spins, sportives, and general use.
Dedicated TT bikes are faster on race day, but the difference is only a few percent and they are not really suitable as an everyday bike.
The geometry is often very agressive, with a low front end and a steep seatpost, and they dont handle traffic or hills very well.
Also, if you ever go out with a group, they wont be too happy if you're on the aerobars and cant reach the brakes in an emergency.

If, in a year or two, if you decide to stick with tris, then you could buy the TT bike and keep the road bike for training and group rides.

Thanks DQ, im not worried about everyday use, it will be used for training and racing only. (By everyday use do you mean training and group rides etc?). It sounds like fairly solid advice either way, which leads me to next question.
Im defo going to purchase from 'the edge' Cork, would you mind looking at their site and telling me which roadbike from their selection you would recommend. (this goes to anyone else reading this also!)
    Thanks
