    Hi All,
Has anyone been to the Valencia street circuit for an F1 race? I was meant to go to the Spanish gp but conflict of dates for me means I can't. I was thinking the European instead. Just wondering if anyone has been?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I was there in August 2009.
Big Alonso fan so it was great for me !

Racing itself was not great (poor circuit layout) but I was very close to cars. Valencia is a great venue otherwise. Great bars and restaurants all very nearby. I went with 1 guy and 2 girls so it suited everyone's tastes.

Bought a run of the mill 3 day pass for grandstand for out back of circuit (about 1min 30s into lap) and as a bonus got to walk the pitlane and meet drivers on the Thursday. I purchased my tickets from El Corte Ingles department store in Valencia itself.

Book an apartment. I remember being pleasantly surprised at much apartment rental cost for those 5 days. City is very easy to get around as there is a good public transport service.

Any questions give me a shout !

i'm actually going to Malaga on the 18th for my sisters wedding. I'll be in Spain until 2 July. I'm flying up to Valencia on the Saturday night and flying back the Sunday night.

i just booked a cheap twin bed hostel room.

I was looking at hostels, but they all have a shared toilet. The OH wants her own one! I'm thinking of flying into Alicante and train it up. Depends on cost!

Last year for the MotoGP I flew into Alicante and home from Barcelona. Valencia isnt too far from either of them, think it was about a 2.5 hour drive from Alicante and then a little longer to Barcelona so the train would be perfect for you.

Does anyone know is it alright to bring professional cameras in? I heard that they stopped people bringing in cameras, but as far as I know, they were video cameras.

Sorry for bringing this thread back up, but can anyone recommend anywhere good to stay that's close?
