Duty Claim on Goods Purchased?

    Hi All,

Not sure if this is the right section to posting this!

Myself and the better half are getting married at the end of March. We are both Irish citizens, but have permanent residency for Australia.
We are emigrating back to Oz 10 days after the wedding, one way tickets that are already purchased.

Question is, we are looking to buy each other some wedding gifts while here before we go. As Irish citizens but Oz residents, would we be entitled to claim back the VAT on the goods at the airport. Pretty much as any non EU resident can?

    Cheers
    Johnny.
