Does anyone know of a straw bale house near you or anywhere in Ireland?

Im basing my final year project on straw bales houses and am currently trying to get a database together.

If you had the area and name of owners/builder/architect it would be great or even if you just know of one somewhere!

    Would really appreciate your help!

Just wondering - are rectangular bales available these days? I have only seen the large circular ones lately.

Yes - there are still small rectangular bales around - quite a few farmers like to have a few of them for handling, but they are a minority item.

However, if you want to use them for building a house, you need to get onto the field while they are being baled and get the bales done extra tight. There is probably twice as much straw per bale in ones you use for baling, packed more densely. There will be a premium charged as it is also more prone to twine breaking etc.
