Question about case -

    Hey guys,

Building a custom gaming rig for the first time and have a few questions and i'd appreciate it if anyone could give me a few tips in relation to some queries I have.

Firstly, is there a massive difference between an i7 2600k and an i5 2500k? I'm mainly going to be using the PC for gaming and i'm really not sure if there's an awful lot of difference in the performance in either for this.

Secondly, hardwareversand doesn't mount CPU fans which is correct imo. However some cases come with good stock fans installed anyway and i'm wondering if I could carry on using them without having to go ahead and install a separate fan. I really need my pc to be as quiet as possible, and so i'm wondering if anyone has any case suggestions with suitable cooling where I don't have to go and install extra fans once it arrives?

    Thanks again!

It was my understanding that HWVS don't mount heat sinks (including the fans that come with), so yes you will need to install the heat sink, but no you do not neccissarily need to mount the fans with the heat sink (though this depends on the heat sink).

Case fans will not be enough to keep your CPU cool.

If you need it to be quiet, why not consider water cooling?

    Thanks for your hasty response.

I had considered liquid cooling but I'm even more clueless in the area of the installation of that than I am with regular fans. No experience whatsoever in constructing a pc and as such am slightly apprehensive towards it. Unless there's some thread i'm missing where someone in Cork is offering pc installation services!
