Does anyone have any recent experience with sending their dog from Dublin to Toronto? I know there are a few threads but they all seem quite old.

What kind of info are you looking for? maybe some posters can help you source what your looking to find out.

    Shipping, vaccines, fees etc?

I did a quick search with aer lingus, and found this: http://www.aerlingus.com/travelinformation/knowbeforeyoufly/baggageinformation/

I guess if you shop around you might find a cheaper alternative, but without knowing the reason for your query thats the best I could offer in regard helping.

Thanks I suppose my OP was a bit vague! :)

I see that I need certification regarding rabies for entry into Canada and getting the pet passport from Ireland would be a good idea also. Not sure if there is anything else I need ot be aware of?? Ultimate nightmare is dogs being sent home or not allowed in:eek:

What I am stuck on is the actual transport. I am trying to see what airlines bring pets from Dub to Toronto. I had looked at Aer Lingus and they dont- they do bring them to various places in the US but not Canada. I know you can use specialist pet transport companies but I would imagine that would be very expensive.

they are over 40kg so cannot travel in the cabin (some planes do allow this for small dogs)

I did a little search, there is a company that will transport pets by air, airsea.ie, I found it on this page : http://gocanada.about.com/od/faqscrossingtheborde1/f/petstocanada.htm

Hope you can find the info you need there, find them in the yellow pages and speak to someone about it, They will tell you all you need to do, pay and know.

Hi. As TillyGirl said above, my daughter moved her dogs to Canada in early November. Used a company called Multicargo and, to be totally honest, had absolutely no problem whatsoever and was guided through the whole process.
My daughter would be happy to give you any guidance you might need regarding vaccinations, passports etc - plus the little tips she used to keep the dogs happy on their journey.
If you wish, you can PM me and I will give you her e-mail.
By the way, both her dogs have settled wonderfully in Canada and, if snow is a dogs summer (as the old saying goes!) they have having an unending summer holiday!!

Sorry if I breached any rules... I was referencing information asked for by the OP.

If it's required, I'll forward any other references by PM rather than publicly.

Davy1020 - issue with a post - report the post (once) and a moderator will look at it. This was not a pimping case, the user did a google search and provided some information which is allowed. Do not reply on thread as I don't wish to drag this thread further off-topic
