It's the sisters 10th wedding anniversary coming up and just for the hell of it i decided i'd have a look at what the wonderful world of wiki has to say about suggested gifts.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wedding_anniversary

Just proves that the merry cans REALLY don't have any great expectations when it comes to durability of marriages.

Here, the traditional gift for the 1oth is tin or aluminium..... there it's diamonds

Just thought i'd share that with all y'all

So yesterday I was talking about a switch in my house. Nobody knew what it was for.

My brother came over last night and has it pretty much figured out.

    We can all rest easy.

What kind of switch are we talking about here, a light switch or a networking one?

Well I was calling it a light switch but it turns out it was actually a power switch for an old water heater that used to be in the utility room before we got the house extended.

So where the utility room was is now the bathroom and the utility room has been moved over beyond the kitchen. So basically the switch used to power something but now doesn't.

We're keeping it though. I feel attached to it at this stage.

Ah, yea. Those old water heater switches.

The one in the family house is still there, probably the oldest thing in the house and well older than me. For it's entire existence it was wired wrong so Off was On and vice versa.

Feels like an old family relative at this point, does absolutely nothing but you'd miss it if you got rid of it..............for a while :pac:

I almost did. But coming back from the pub I spotted our neighbour had put his out so I remembered.

It really was a lucky escape.

I live in an area where we have to buy the bin stickers. Now I normally keep the bags of rubbish in the shed out back and when I have a few I put them all into one big bag and just use one sticker. I've noticed that a lot of my neighbours will put out a tiny bag of rubbish and use a sticker on it. Seems like a waste of cash to me. The stickers cost about 3 euro each.

    Madness.

It worked out ok for me too, turns out it wasn't actually bin day.

That must be a load off your mind alright.

It's fierce mild these days - hardly a winter at all.

I only like certain type of cake. But not enough cakes to say something bold and defined like "I like cake"

More a pastry than a cake, is it not?

Anyway - what's all this jazz about wedding anniversaries?

Brioche is not a cake. The brioche is a lie.

Doesn't have the same ring to it...

Wedding cakes lately have moved away from the traditional iced fruitcake.

I don't really like fruitcake, so this is a positive thing in my view.

Now we're getting to the real meat of this thread.

Gatecrash wants to have a go at the mentally ill.
